Hi there! I'm Stephanie. I saw the advertisement for this community in [site community profile] dw_community_promo and thought with all the journaling I've been doing lately, I should join up. :) I never joined the Embodiment community on LJ because I don't want to commit myself to writing every day; to me, writing in a journal should be relaxing, and something that I want to do. About a week ago I wrote really honestly to myself in my journal about things that I haven't been honest with myself about, and since then I've felt such relief to write in my journal that I've been writing a lot!

I collect paper notebooks with the idea to use them as journals and have all my life. My current one I bought in 2009. It's a blank journal with a cover in French, but the title is "GOETHE", who is important to me. I've been writing in this journal since the end of last July and very much enjoying it still. I'm mostly a writer in my journal rather than an artist. For me my journal is about getting out my thoughts rather than doodles, and since I love language my thoughts tend to come out in it. I wish I did more, but there's only so many hours in the day! ;)

For those of you who do a combination of writing and art, what motivates you to do art? Does your art in your journal reflect the things you're going through at the time? How do you decide what to draw/create?

I've started a new journal in the beginning of the year. Is a very small one, so I can carry the thing with me to work. I'm writing almost everyday, as part of my compromise to living more creative.

Hello! Did you all enjoy your New Year's? I've had to leave my journal at my university accommodation so I could have space to pack other bits for home, so I've been unable to do anything in it for the past few days. Is there such a thing as 'journal withdrawal'? 'Cause I think I'm feeling it x.x

Anyhow, here are my questions: are you starting a journal as part of a New Year's resolution? Have you done any pages in your journal regarding New Year's resolutions?

And do you have any journalling sites, Flickr groups, or photographs to share to motivate your fellow journallers? Do tell!

(Some of my personal favourites are Journal Girl, Keri Smith's 100 Ideas, and Marizateria. I'm still fairly new to Flickr so any group recommendations would be awesome!)

Hey, guys! As a Christmas treat, I've made a few banners and icons for those of you who want to show the love on your profile or in your entries, promote to a community, or to a friend! :D

Credit is not needed for the banners, but please credit us in the comment field if you decide to use an icon. Have a great holiday, guys! I'm very happy to see so many join :)

ICONS:

Banners for promotion, complete with codes. It's a hefty ol' section, so I've cut it. )

... A FRIENDING MEME! *applause/singing/vuvuzelas*

The rules are simple - fill out the questions you feel comfortable answering, and post it as a comment. I feel it's a nice little way to get to know your fellow in sharing life stories! :)

Thanks! I hope you enjoy this, and that some friendships are made here ♥

One of the biggest things I missed about LJ was the (fairly) active journalling community there. I'm hoping that more journallers'll join up to DW!

Also, a big warm "HEY THERE!" to our members. I'm Lishie. Nice to meet you. :)

All ye who enter here beware, here be big images - those of you on my FL may have already seen these )

Also, EMBODIMENT BANNER! I will try and get some nice little icons and more promotion banners done this weekend, but for now, I have this:
